• The 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China are scheduled from November 9 to 21, 2025, marking the first edition to be jointly hosted by Guangdong Province, the Hong Kong SAR, and the Macao SAR. This collaboration reflects increasing integration and coordination within the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

• Organized by the General Administration of Sport of China, the Games will feature 34 competitive sports and 23 public participation events, including swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball, fencing, gymnastics, rugby sevens, wushu, and other disciplines.

• The opening ceremony will take place in Guangzhou on November 9, with the closing ceremony in Shenzhen on November 21. Hong Kong will host eight competition events, such as men’s U22 basketball, track cycling, golf, fencing, handball, rugby sevens, triathlon, and beach volleyball, along with one public participation event — bowling.
• Officials note that the joint hosting represents a new era for sports in the Greater Bay Area, emphasizing efficiency, coordination, and broad public engagement. Venue preparations, volunteer programs, and digital infrastructure are in their final stages.
