Royer, the surprise of the tournament, advanced from qualifying and upset top seed and world No. 14 Andrey Rublev to reach his first ATP final. Third seed Bublik had dropped only one tight three-setter all week and otherwise advanced comfortably.
Both players held serve throughout the final, forcing tiebreaks in each set. Bublik’s serving power proved decisive: he fired 21 aces to Royer’s eight and handled key points with greater composure to seal the straight-sets win.
“I had to rely on my serve and fight for every point,” Bublik said after the match. “Royer played at a very high level and pushed me hard in the final.”
The victory gives Bublik another ATP 250 title and reinforces his reputation as one of the tour’s most dangerous servers.
